Letting go can be frustrating!
You have likely read the books, practiced the techniques and in the process, you have become totally obsessed with your desire!
But then someone comes along and tells you that you’re doing it all wrong!
That obsessing over what you want isn’t actually the best way to go…
And that perhaps if you had of just “let go” your desire would have manifested by now.
Frustrating I know!
Focus on what you want… but also don’t focus on it at all.
What is this contradiction and how does it make any sense???
In this article, you will learn all about what it means to “let go”, why it’s so important and the techniques to make releasing your desires a piece of cake!

What Does It Mean To “Let Go”?
To let go of your desire is to stop worrying about whether or not it will manifest, how long it will take, how much you really need it right now and if your manifestation efforts are even working.
This kind of worry only causes resistance!
In other words, it actually holds you back from manifesting your desires.
To let go is to be able to go about your daily life WITHOUT having to worry about a single thing because you TRUST in the universe.
When you trust and have faith that everything will work out in perfect timing, things are able to flow with ease…
Your manifestations are able to move into place perfectly.
Think about it…
If you truly believe that your goals and desires are making their way into your life, would there be any reason to feel worried?
To be fearful or to obsess over controlling every minor detail?
If you know in your heart that the universe is conspiring in your favor then you would go and enjoy the rest of your day…
You would let go of the ‘how’ and ‘when’ and simply continue to raise your vibration by feeling good and living your life while knowing that it’s only a matter of time…
Letting Go Is Not About Giving Up On Your Goals!

This is an important point to make!
I know even for me, the first time I heard about letting go I thought “so what I just give up on my goals entirely?”
But this is not the case!
Set your intentions, practice manifestation techniques and follow inspired guidance toward your desires…
These are not the thing you need to let go of.
Letting go is about freeing yourself from the negative thoughts and feelings associated with trying to manifest…
Feelings like obsession, desperation, and impatience.
Remember, like attracts like so when you feel these kinds of emotions you attract experiences that create more of them.
In other words, these feelings will only cause you to manifest lack.
Another thing you need to let go of is the need to control the outcome!
Needing to control how or when things will manifest creates resistance because it comes from a place of doubt.
When you are trying to control things, you are doubting the power of the universe…
You are doubting your own abilities to manifest!
Let go of control and trust in the process!
The power of pure faith has been documented for centuries, don’t underestimate it!
As the saying goes “believe and you will receive”.
How Do You Let Go In Order To Manifest More?
Now that we have covered the basics of letting go and you know exactly what it is and how it works, we are going to turn our focus towards something a little more practical…
You see, it’s all well and good to preach the benefits of letting go but how exactly is it done?
How can you stop obsessing, stop worrying and create more flow and less resistance in the way things manifest into your life.
Below I have listed 5 of my favorite techniques that you can use to manifest from a place of faith (no holding on to the outcome required).
1. Create A Manifestation Box:
Inspired by Abraham Hicks, a manifestation box is a set-and-forget type method that helps to detach from any obsession, worry or fear over your desires manifesting.
Now before we begin, it’s important to note that creating a manifestation box is not just a letting go technique… but a manifestation technique that combines intention setting with the act of letting go.
The way it works is simple.
Find a box.
Fill it with your written intentions as well as anything else that represents your desires.
Store the box away and let the universe do the rest!
The idea is that you work on your intentions and then by putting them out of sight, you allow yourself to let go and continue your day-to-day life while having complete faith in the universe.
You can place anything inside that resembles your desires as well as personal items to raise the vibration as a whole.
Here are some examples of items commonly used in manifestation boxes.
- Positive messages/affirmations.
- Magazine cutouts.
- Sentimental objects.
The manifestation box method allows you to let go of fear and worry because you know that your intentions are being projected out to the universe even though you are not thinking about them.
This means that you will spend more time in a state of flow and less time questioning if you have done enough for your desires to manifest!
2.) Mindset Work:

Your subconscious is a vast and mysterious part of your mind.
It hosts every memory, feeling, thought and skill that you have ever processed and uses that information to shape who you are today.
Now in many respects, this is a positive thing!
But sometimes it’s your deepest beliefs that are preventing you from letting go of your manifestations in complete faith that the universe will handle it.
If you’ve ever been told that you were not capable of achieving something…
If you picked up on the vibes that people didn’t believe in you…
Or perhaps if you have heard others complain about it being “hard” to fulfill your goals and aspirations…
Then it is highly likely that your subconscious mind has been hijacked!!
The problem here is that you are so deeply programmed with doubt that it’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to control your desires instead of allowing them to flow with trust and certainty.
The good news is that there are ways to reprogram your mindset and let go of the limiting beliefs causing you to obsess over your desires.
And by removing subconscious blockages you can be free from doubt and therefore open up the floodgates of allowance!
Here are some ways to reprogram your mindset and let go!
- Use subliminals to train your subconscious to be more trusting of your own personal power.
- Affirm your self-belief with positive affirmations.
- Surround yourself with people who believe in you.
- Eliminate stressful things in your life that cause you to doubt yourself.

In my opinion, meditation is one of the best possible ways to let go of your desires with faith.
The aim of meditation is to free your mind from the controlling and constant chatter of the ego.
When you are in a state of deep meditation you are in what Abraham Hicks called “the receiving mode”.
All resistant and obsessive thoughts drop their guard and you are left with a perfect state of flow.
A daily meditation routine will allow you to strengthen your mind towards more conscious and purposeful thinking.
The higher self will become more dominant and the ego will begin to quieten.
If you have never meditated before start with just 10 – 20 minutes per day.
First, find a comfortable place to sit where you will not be disturbed.
Close your eyes and draw your attention toward your breathing.
Repeat in your mind “Breathe in… breathe out…”
If a random thought pops into your head that’s okay.
Simply notice it and then bring yourself back to your breathing.

4.) Create More Fun In Your Life!

Another great way to release yourself from the binds of your manifestation is to create more fun in your life!
Now I know this sounds like a contradiction…
Turning your focus away from your goals and more toward leisure, but hear me out…
The emotions that you release when you have fun are exactly the emotions that need to be released in order to manifest.
Like attracts like!
You don’t manifest a great life by being stressed, desperate, obsessing over time and how your desires will spring to life…
When you feel happy, energetic, excited and full of gratitude, you attract a lifestyle that offers more of those exact same feelings!
When you are having fun, you are not thinking about your desires… and yet you’re attracting them using much more powerful energies!
Don’t underestimate the power of having fun and doing what you love!
Follow your bliss!
Whether that be hiking, gardening, art, singing, dancing, photography, music, or something else…
This will help to raise your vibrations, maintain peace, bring clarity and keep your spiritual wellbeing in balance.
Not only that, but you will spend less time worrying, dwelling, and obsessing over the whole manifestation process.
5.) Be Present:
“If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present”. -Lao Tzu
Present moment mindfulness is capturing the essence of everything that is happening now.
In a present state of consciousness, your mind releases from any past or future thoughts and feelings and becomes solely focused on what you’re experiencing in the given moment.
Think about it…
Whenever you are lost in thought, you are either focused on the past or future.
As far as manifestation is concerned your thoughts are usually going to be focused on the future…
Either you are thinking about your life once your desires have manifested…
Or worrying about your life because you are questioning if your desires will manifest…
This can cause unnecessary resistance and ultimately it can waste a huge amount of time.
Focus on being here right now!
Being present will allow you to enjoy the moment.
You will naturally emit feelings of gratitude and clear any manifestation blocks allowing your desires to flow through to your reality with ease.
Finding more periods of pure presence in your life may take some practice but the more you do it, the easier it will be.
Here are some great techniques to stay present and let go of overactive thoughts…
Believe it or not, gratitude is a symptom of presence.
When you feel appreciation, you are thankful for something that currently exists within your reality right now.
Gratitude is not only a great way to stay present but it’s also a manifestation technique in itself.
Remember, the universe works like a mirror.
Like attracts like.
By emitting feelings of gratitude, you have to receive blessings in order for that gratitude to manifest more of itself.
Observe Your Surroundings:
How amazing is it to be experiencing this reality first hand.
Take time to observe how the birds interact with one another…
Watch how trees and plants move in the wind…
Observe other people passing by in the streets.
Allow yourself to simply be here now appreciating the wonders that exist all around you.
Focus On Your Senses:
Spend time experiencing your senses.
One by one, focus on what you can hear, smell, taste, touch and see.
Allow each sense to have your full attention and remain present to the many sensations that are available to you.
Check-in with how your body feels… draw your attention from the tips of your toes, through your legs, your torso, arms and finally your head becoming completely aware in this moment of your physical existence.
Create A Reminder:
Give yourself a practical reminder to experience more moments of presence throughout the day.
Sometimes I like to write the letter P on my hand.
Whenever I glance down at it, I am reminded to pull my mind back to the present moment.
I let go of any thoughts and feelings that are dominating my mind and simply bring myself back into full awareness.
