I’m not going to deny it…
When I first heard about the idea of literally speaking your desires into existence, I was a little confused.
Funnily enough, it was my doctor who recommended I try using affirmations as a way to combat my self-esteem issues.
“What, like a magic spell?”, I asked sarcastically…
“I’m just supposed to say a few words and all my problems will magically disappear?”
I have to laugh now…
I mean, looking back on my cynical attitude to life, it’s no wonder I had attracted such a rough patch.
These days, I am a huge advocate for using positive affirmations.
I realize that positivity isn’t just something to dabble in…
It’s a lifestyle.
And when you accept that lifestyle completely, you make a shift into the best version of you!
I have used positive affirmations for so long now that my brain naturally thinks positive.
My pessimistic mind has been rewritten…
And no, I’m not saying that I have reached a state of complete enlightenment where I will never have another negative thought again…
But when those negative thoughts do come, I am definitely better prepared to handle them.
Learning how to use affirmations has not only changed the way I feel on the inside but how life plays out for me as well.

But that’s enough about me…
I was inspired to write this article for anyone who is wanting to learn the truth about positive affirmations.
What are they?
How do they work?
And what can you do to make positive affirmations work more effectively?
This is exciting!
Using positive affirmations in this way is literally going to boost your manifestation power and help you to get the very best out of your life.
I also want to talk about subliminal affirmations, which is a program I’m using called 15-minute manifestation.
It’s a much easier way to apply this manifestation technique…
But I’m getting ahead of myself…
Before we dive into my top 5 affirmation tips, let’s first cover the basics…
What Are Positive Affirmations?
Positive affirmations are powerful phrases which when recited can influence and even transform your subconscious mind.
They are positive statements written or spoken in present-tense form that describe a goal or desire as if it has already been achieved.
As an example, one of my favorite affirmations is:
“Everything that happens within my life sets me up for more success.”
Now, when I first learned about affirmations, I remember thinking…
1.) These statements are lies. How can lies help me improve as a person?
2.) How are these statements supposed to reprogram my brain when I don’t even believe what I’m saying?
If you have doubts about whether or not affirmations really help with manifestation, I don’t blame you!
I felt exactly the same way before I started using them.
But, they work!
And I’ll explain how…
Let’s Start With The Things You Already Believe About Yourself…
Think of your brain as a computer.
Your beliefs about yourself and the world around you are all hard-wired into your programming throughout childhood.
It’s these early years that determine who you will be and what beliefs you will have.
This is all shaped by your environment as well as the people around you.
Most of the time, you develop positive beliefs that allow you to feel good about yourself…
But this is not always the case.
We are shaped by a whole range of different experiences…
Perhaps somebody at your school tells you that you are mean.
Or you find yourself in a series of situations where other children do not want to play with you.
Maybe your mom complains that you are always misbehaving.
Self-doubt, anxiety, and fear all begin to form within the subconscious mind.
Once processed, your experiences with life become the outward display of who you are…
And likewise, you begin to attract all the things you need to “play the part” of that person whom you believe yourself to be.
Unfortunately, negative memories tend to dominate the positive memories within the human mind.
We all go through hard times!
Even the most positive person in the world is not completely immune to negative experiences.
The problem is not the hard times themselves but the way that they shape our beliefs.
Everything we experience (especially during childhood) leaves a mark on the subconscious mind.
And the more we experience something, the more powerful that mark is!
If you grow up seeing your parents fight over money, you will likely develop thought patterns such as:
“There is not enough money.”
This thought brings you feelings of stress and fear which you absorb through your environment (in this case your parents).
Now, if they continue this pattern of fighting about money, the “negative affirmation” that…
“There is not enough money”…
Will continue to grow more and more powerful.
Eventually, this thought will be ingrained so deeply within the subconscious, that it will become part of you.
Instead of a simple thought, it becomes a belief.
And what does the Law of Attraction do with this deep-seated false truth?
It mirrors it!
The belief that “there is not enough money.” becomes true within your reality.
So How Do Positive Affirmations Work?
Whether your thought patterns are positive or negative, it doesn’t matter.
The subconscious will adopt almost anything as “truth” if it hears it enough.
Because the subconscious mind stops developing at 7 years old.
Therefore it learns in the exact same way as a 7 years old child.
Through repetition and consistency.
The difference between positive affirmations and the beliefs you have already developed is that by using positive affirmations, you take the power back.
In other words…
You couldn’t help the falsehoods that were adopted during childhood…
But you can overwrite them now with new, empowering beliefs.
Once you have reprogrammed your subconscious mind, your vibration changes.
The Law of Attraction says that you must attract a lifestyle that aligns with who you believe you are.
Therefore, that newfound faith in yourself will manifest the lifestyle and the opportunities that match your new vibration.
You see, the power of belief is no joke.
Dr. Bruce Lipton claims that up to 66% of all medical healing is due to placebo.
Now, let’s just take that in for a minute…
The power of belief is so strong that a sick patient can pick up a glass of water labeled “medicine” and walk away cured!
OK, on a conscious level you may not believe your affirmations yet, but through repetition and consistency, you will!
First on a subconscious level…
And then, as your desires begin to manifest, on a conscious level as well.

5 Magical Positive Affirmation Tips To Rewire Your Brain For Success
Ok, so now that you know all about positive affirmations and how they work, I want to show you some ways to use your affirmations in order to get the best possible results for manifestation.
These are techniques that I personally use and have found helpful to help boost my manifestation power.
Remember, using affirmations is a way to gradually reprogram old thought patterns in order to fine-tune your frequency to be an exact match with that of your desires.

1.) Replace Negative Self-Talk With Positive Affirmations
This technique is all about becoming more present to your thoughts in general.
Reprogramming the subconscious mind is like training a puppy.
A puppy (although very cute) doesn’t exactly come into this world knowing how he’s expected to behave.
He may dig holes, chew your shoes and chase the cat…
That’s okay though because he doesn’t know any better…
He is learning…
And it doesn’t take long for the puppy to realize how happy he makes you when he behaves…
He learns his commands faithfully in the endless pursuit to make his owner happy.
The subconscious mind learns in the exact same way…
You don’t need to shut yourself down or feel bad for being angry, frustrated or fearful.
I mean, we all have our bad days…
But by reinforcing the positive you will naturally start replacing your negative thoughts.
Try to watch your thought patterns throughout the day.
If you notice yourself having a positive thought, allow yourself to feel good about it.
This is a good time to use your affirmations…
“I am a positive person.”
“I direct my thoughts in a way that best serves me.”
If you notice yourself having a negative thought, don’t feel bad.
Simply accept your feelings within that moment and then consciously make the decision to replace that negative thought with a positive affirmation.
If you were struggling with a particularly tricky task and suddenly noticed yourself feeling doubtful, you can spin that doubt in a positive direction.
“I can’t do it!”
“Every time I try, I get closer to my goal.”
This way, you take back control of your thoughts without feeling bad or angry at yourself.
Negative thoughts only hinder your manifestations when you allow them to be in control.
This type of thinking is often referred to as “Limiting Beliefs” and can slow down or even damage the manifestation process!
It’s super important to know what kind of limiting beliefs you’re having, this way you can use the right affirmations to eliminate these thought patterns.

2.) Practice in the Mirror
Speaking your affirmations out loud feels good but directing them back toward yourself is even better!
Practicing your affirmations in the mirror allows you to do just that and trust me, as far as positive affirmation tips go, this is a powerful one!
When you first try this method it can feel a little strange but have faith and you will begin to really see results.
Watch how your body feels when you use positive affirmations in the mirror.
Take note of that spark, that glint of excitement.
You will notice that it feels similar to when you receive praise from a stranger.
It feels good!
And there lies the magic of this method.
The power of feeling good now is so strong when it comes to manifestation.
When you recite your affirmations in the mirror, you awaken your inner bliss and raise your vibration.
Not only will your thoughts reflect your desires but your emotions will too.
Personally, I love the way this double whammy of energy supercharges my manifestations.
And I definitely recommend trying this one out for yourself.

3.) Use Your Affirmations During Exercise
Whether you lift weights at the gym or take a daily walk around the block, using your positive affirmations as part of your exercise routine can be a great way to make the most of your work out.
This method will motivate you to keep going and improve both your mental and physical strength by blocking out any destructive thoughts that threaten to put you off your game.
While mentally reciting your affirmations, imagine the words flowing through your bloodstream and consuming your entire body through movement.
It is a well-known fact that oxygen is vital for brain and body health so breathe deeply and use the airflow to shift positive thoughts throughout every cell in your body.
Bonus Tip – If you specifically practice fitness affirmations during exercise, you will achieve your fitness goals faster than ever before. This works through the alignment of your thoughts and actions.
If you can manage to bring emotion into this practice by focusing on how it feels to achieve your fitness desires then wallah!

4.) Combine Your Positive Affirmations With Meditation
Transforming your affirmations into a meditation mantra can be a powerful way to imprint your intention on a much deeper level.
Meditation is often seen to be a gateway for communication between the higher self and the universe.
Simply choose one positive affirmation to focus on for the week and while practicing yoga or meditation, repeat the chosen statement in your mind in conjunction with your breathing.
Now, to be honest with you, meditation is not something that has come easy to me.
I have a very overactive mind and I do struggle to shut off but one thing I have personally found to be helpful is the 15 Minute Manifestation program.

5.) Use Your Affirmations Consistently
Consistency is key!
Reciting affirmations is not about saying…
“I have one million dollars”, and then receiving it the next day…
No, affirmations are not a magic spell.
They are a tool for reprogramming your mind in order to fine-tune a millionaire vibration.
This, in turn, is what attracts a millionaire reality.
Schedule some time for your positive affirmation practice each morning.
This will help to build a habit so that your manifestations are always fully charged.
Repeating your positive affirmations as part of a morning ritual is a wonderful way to start your day and will help you to remain positive regardless of any stress that may present itself.
Once you have firmly implemented positive affirmations into your morning routine, you may also like to add them to your evening schedule.
Recite your affirmations right before going to bed or otherwise in your mind as you fall asleep.
The subconscious mind processes conscious thought throughout the night so if you fall asleep with positive affirmations fresh in your mind, your brain is going to quickly adopt those same statements.
Reciting positive affirmations before bed will also help you to fall asleep quicker and enjoy a more restful sleep as a whole because it blocks destructive thoughts from popping into your mind and disturbing your slumber.
Remember, this life experience is yours to create and limits exist only in the mind.
